Awesome Deal on Cream Chick and Mushroom + more

I stopped over to smiths today and got:
6 cans cream of chicken soup
6 cans cream of mushroom soup
5 cans chicken broth
2 boxes stovetop
1 box rotini noodles
8 bags of ricola cough drops (perfect timing, because I have a cold and have used them already for my cough and throat!)
2 toothbrushes
My total before any savings: $48.01
I scanned my rewards card and gave my coupons and the cashier replied,
"Holy Sh**, $2.63 is all you owe ... now that is cheating the system." I kindly replied, "Nope that is called using your coupons wisely!" He then asked if I would do his grocery shopping for him LOL.
So my savings were 95% and .08 per item!! Not bad, bot bad at all. And all of these items are ones I use on a regular basis.

Happy shopping!!

Rite Aid Diapers & Candy

Today I think I got a great deal on diapers and Halloween/Christmas Stocking Stuffer Candy.
I purchased 10 bags of candy and 4 packs of diapers for a total of: $21.20 and I still have a $2.00 store Cash Coupon thing to use on a future purchase. That equals out to approx $1.50 per item, super sweet deal for the diapers, and okay deal for the candy :)
I have way too much Halloween candy I am sure ... between this trip and the previous candy trip, however I figure they will still be good for Christmas, to go in the stockings.

Walmart Trip

I went to walmart today to get a few items. My total before coupons was 28.70, after coupons I paid 9.22 a total savings of about 68%. Not the best, but for 4 bags of candy I would say that is great.
I also picked up some bags of candy bars at target for an awesome deal!! We have all the Halloween Candy we should need :)

9 boxes of poptarts
4 bottles of BBQ sauce
5 boxes of cream cheese
11 things of mentos gum

Not too shabby.

I needed the milk, we have also been out of Poptarts for a while now and they are a staple in my childrens diet ... but I needed to wait for a good deal ( Just the milk and poptarts alone would have been 21.00) And then some extras that we will for sure use!!!

Killer Deal on Diapers

So I saw a blog post about a great deal at Rite Aid on diapers. Rite aid kind of intimidates me, but after talking to a friend that did the deal I went out and couldn't be more happy!!

I got 5 packs of huggies diapers, 3 things of toothpaste, and 3 lip balms all for a total of $16.32.
That makes each item only 1.48 each!!
My total would have been 14.32 making it $1.30, however the cashier wouldn't take a coupon that he should have and I didn't feel like arguing this time because my wonderful Mom was in the car with my kids and I had already taken forever. So I gave in and paid $2.00 extra!! Still a super deal!
I have 116 diapers for 16.32 basically. so that equals .14 a diaper.
YAY!!I love good deals!! They were out of most the diapers so Kambria gets to be stuck with the sweet diapers that look like Jeans!!

One of my Smith's trips

With smiths rounding to $1.00 I organized all my coupons and headed in to use any that would be free or close to it. We were almost out of laundry soap, so I bought a bunch and now should be good for 1/2 a year. I also got more toothpaste for free, and toothbrushes. I don't think I will ever again have to pay for toothpaste or toothbrushes!!! I got a bunch of body soap and Cream of chick/mushroom soup.
Alot of this stuff is for longterm, so that I don't have to buy laundry soap, body soap, papertowels and such for some time. I spent a total of $17.61, I bought 29 items, so it is like spending .60 per item. I saved a total of 73%, not bad.
I have been over to smiths a few other times and had 75% savings.

Food Storage

Part of couponing is to get a nice food storage. I am pretty sure I have done that. I think I might now have too much cereal. But it is good, because I think if I use my food storage to plan my weekly menus, I should cut down a lot on my grocery bill, which I already have down to $300.00 a month!!

My Dad made me this cool food storage rack, and I just love it! I wish I had a bigger storage area so that I could have him make me more shelves.

The top has rows of Cereal. That first row is two large boxes of Lucky Charms and then all cookie crips (6 boxes), the second row is assorted cereals, the third row is 6 boxes of total and then cocoa puffs ontop and in front, fourth row is assorted cheerios, and fith row is trix from top to bottom. Then fruit snack stuff, mac & Chz, and condiments and oil.
My lower shelf has toothpaste galore. It has two rows of hamburger helper, some rice, poptarts, grahm crackers, fruit, crackers, a row of brownies, noodles, spaghetti sauce, corn muffin mixes and more.
i love the rotating can rack that my dad made on this. It is so wonderful. I have cream of chicken soupo, chili, cream of mushroom soup, tomato, oranges, evaporated milk, lots of pasta, corn, chicken broth, ravioli, spahettios, oranges, evaporated milk, beans, more spahetti sauce, soup, pineapple, baked beans, and a few more.
We are also stocked up on toilet paper!! We have got plenty of deoderant, bars of soap

Shampoo, conditioner, body wash and shaving gel

This just goes to show that couponing really does work. I had some of the canned goods before, but the rest I have built mainly with coupons. I also have buckets of flour and sugar. I really need to work on rice and wheat ... I just don't know how much we would use those regularly.

My Smith's Trip

I didn't take a picture this time. But I got a great deal today at Smiths, I saved 71%.

I purchased:
23 boxes of cereal
7 boxes of cookie crisp
6 boxes of trix
6 boxes of cocoa puffs
4 boxes of total
4 boxes of toaster struddles
13 sobe drinks, the yummy strawberry daiquiri
1 gallon of milk.

Target Trip 8-2-2010

I went to target today and did okay.

I saved 68%, which is okay.

My total before coupons was $49.21 and I paid a total of $15.81.

I got 25 items so that makes each item approx $0.63, not bad.
This is all similar stuff to my previous target trip, because I figured out I can simply unplug the printer from my computer downstairs and plug it into my laptop and I can now print off twice as many target coupons. I don't think it is cheating, since there are 4 in my family, I figure I am entitled to 4 coupons of each product :) Not sure why it took me this long to realize the printer thing, but now I am happy!!!

I got:

6 boxes of hamburger helper (again we actually eat this)

4 cans of Chef Boyardee Ravioli

4 single packs of Tide

4 on the go first aid kits

4 travel size clean and clear face wash

2 small digiorno pizza's

1 pack 12ct colored pencil

1 24 pack crayons

2 8ct juicy juice boxes

2 6 pack del monte fruit cups

1 Box Bagel Bites

2 4 packs of GE reveal light bulbs

1 Vaseline skin care lotion for men.

I am hoping for a good Smiths sale this week or walmart deals. I need some main groceries like produce and meats, so we shall see what happens. I am happy to say that my food storage is in full swing and I have enough toiletries to last a while now. I am really enjoying couponing and I can see where it is helping me with my storage and my budget at the same time!!

My Smiths Trip 85% Savings!!

So I get really excited when my deal is so good that the cashier tells me, "GREAT JOB, I AM IMPRESSED!!" and then the lady behind me, "22.00 for all of that? Tell

me your secret!!"

I was pretty impressed with smiths this time, they were very very very well stocked! They never have the crest when I go in, so I had 10 coupons ready to expire, and I didn't feel at all bad about buying 10 because there was a huge area full of them! Yes I know it is excessive, but one day we will use it all. 8 rolls of paper towels, yippee, and the large charmin toilet paper, wahoo!! Plus 4 cans of cream of mushroom, 4 cans of cream of chicken, pasta, BBBQ sauce, tampons, shampoo, conditioner, sobe(yummy), and much more!!!!!

Anyway ...... I spent $22.54, I did use a $5.00 catalina from the other day. I saved a total of $114.88 which is a savings of 85%.

Now this weekend I need to do meat/chicken/milk that kind of grocery shopping and I know it won't be 85% but thats okay sometimes!!!

Target

Today I went to target to do some shopping and I figure I saved about 62%. Not great, but not horrible.

My total before sales and coupons was $50.55, after coupons and sales it came down to $14.18.

I got some treats for the kids, Tide stain pack things, 2 pump kids toothpaste, pens (they were free), juice, ravioli, chocolate for me, and a bunch of hamburger helper, which we actually like to eat :)
This was not major grocery shopping by any means, but stuff I wanted!
